It is the one of the terms which you have been heard when there is police investigation.  I have heard this many times when saw I movies. FIR nothing but it is written document. It is also called in the other word is known as the first information report. It is the written document which is recorded by the police when they enquire and file FIR.  It is one of the most important parts you should be knowing being the law student. 

It is the complaint that is filed again the victim by the victim or anybody else on his / her behalf. When the FIR is registered before the police sign of the copy is given to the victim who has filed. It said to be the one of the criminal instruments. To file the person can approach the charge of the police office at the police station within who's the local limit the client can approach against the court. In the description of the police station the incident usually provided in the writings by the person reporting the offences.  If he or she is illiterate or unable to write than oral narration can be provided which is written by the police officer narrated to be the information for his confirmation.

A fir can be registered under the cognizable offences. The first it talks about the when the police areare empowered to arrest without the warrant and can carry the further procedure investigation without orders from magistrate. This is considered as the violation of the fundamental right. Because as per the rule it is said that the person should be produced before the court for 24 hourss. The other is the opposite for under the criminal law procedure code 1973 offence's which are punishable shall be imprisonment for less than the three years. In more or less it is one of tool for providing justices. The FIR is the common uses that are been used in the criminal cases . This comes under the category of CrCPC Code of the criminal procedure. Its is nature is of the  that it will not be included the civivl case. There is no civil  cases where it cannot be filed fir . Instead it is followed by the CPC code of the civil procedure .
